Geek+ automates German 3PL provider Bergler’s picking operations

Geek+ AMRs have enabled Bergler to fully automate order picking at their highly anticipated logistics center.

Geek+, the world leader in AMR technology, is pleased to announce that German third-party logistics provider Bergler Industrieservices has placed its trust in Geek+’s Picking and Put-away solution, which is now fully operational at Bergler’s new logistics center in Erlensee, not far from Germany’s transport hub, Frankfurt.

Bergler’s success is due to providing high-quality logistics services, including order fulfillment and returns management, for German and international e-commerce players. To modernize their pick and put away processes, Bergler chose Geek+’s P-800 pick AMRs and an advanced warehouse management system.
Now that the order picking process is automated, Bergler can leverage their considerable advantages and know-how to provide top-notch service to their customers.

This know-how is based, among other things, on experience from the manufacturing sector, which enables Bergler Industries services to provide its customers with value-added services such as component assembly, quality control, packaging and much more in addition to performing typical fulfillment tasks.

The automated order picking system is therefore a great help to the approximately 40 employees who, since moving to the 11,000 m2 Erlensee site in 2019, assemble, pack and ship a large number of orders every day for customers of various e-commerce operators. Bergler’s warehouse workers are now at the center of both inbound and outbound operations and enjoy much more comfortable conditions. The P-800s take the racks to the operator at the workstation and then return the racks to an optimized position. This saves countless hours
otherwise would be spent wandering the sprawling site.

Thanks to the integration of advanced robotic technology, picking is not only faster, more comfortable and more accurate, but the storage density is also much higher, thanks to the low profile and modest space required by the AMRs. This gives Bergler more freedom to scale their operations and broaden their business horizons.

Geek+ is once again very proud to have enabled an independent third-party logistics provider to scale their operations and deliver new levels of quality. The AMR leader stands ready to assist Bergler in making the most of their newly expanded capabilities.
